Our firm has an exciting opportunity for current Professional Geography student to join our well-established and growing GIS team as a GIS Intern.

The GIS Intern would provide assistance on a wide variety of GIS related projects for both internal and external clients.  The position will will assist with both office and field duties that may include database development, data collection and analysis and map development and layout. 

Education and Experience:

  • The selected candidate will be enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Degree program pursuing Geography or GIS related field from an accredited college or university
    • This internship will begin some time in the spring, and run through the summer, and is limited to schools surrounding the Greater Mankato area. Relocation and housing are not provided.
    • A letter of recommendation from at least one GIS/Geography professor is required as part of the application process.

Required Qualifications:    

  • Introductory experience with ESRI software, specifically the ESRI ArcGIS v10.1 suite
  • Introductory experience with Geoprocessing within the ArcGIS environment
  • Ability to work within a team atmosphere
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and your own transportation. 

Additional qualifications that may be considered but are not required:

  • Experience with CAD products including AutoDesk Map or Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works and Civil Engineering
  • Experience working with municipal, county, state and federal agencies
  • Web and Mobile application experience
  • Experience administering ArcGIS for Server
