Now accepting applications for a Summer 2015 Environmental Engineer Intern!

As an Engineer Intern with Bolton & Menk you will learn practical on-the-job experience. As an Engineer Intern in our Environmental Division you will spend the majority of their time assisting project managers and project engineers in construction phase activities for water treatment and waste water treatment facility projects.  Construction observation activities may include performing construction administration duties such as documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff. Other office duties are depending on weather and project timelines. Some interns may assist with general office duties, quantity calculations, estimates, plan specs and project design.

Education and Experience:

The selected candidate will be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Program from an ABET accredited post-secondary institution and have a strong interest in water and/or wastewater treatment. Must be on track toward pursuing a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. Undergraduate Junior or Senior Level Student is Preferred.

Required Qualifications:    

• Candidates must have the ability to work in extended outdoor conditions, and must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the construction observation duties outlined above
• Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
• Candidates must possess a valid MN class D driver’s license, or equivalent, and their own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel. Regional travel may be required.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to read, speak and write English clearly is required. This position interacts with City staff, City residents, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Ability to work within a team atmosphere to meet the needs of the client.
