Now accepting applications for an Environmental Project Design Engineer!

As a Project Design Engineer with Bolton & Menk you will learn practical on-the-job experience. As an Environmental Project Design Engineer you will spend the majority of their time assisting project managers and project engineers in design and construction phase activities for water treatment and waste water treatment facility projects. You will perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies. In addition, you will assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications, prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates, travel to work sites and other project locations, and provide construction engineering services and project documentation. Construction observation activities may include performing construction administration duties such as documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents and City staff.

Education and Experience:

• The selected candidate will have a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited post-secondary institution with an emphasis on water and/or wastewater treatment.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam. Must be certified as an Engineer-in-Training or Engineer Intern. 
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment is a plus. 

Required Qualifications:    

• Candidates must have the ability to work in extended outdoor conditions, and must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the construction observation duties outlined above
• Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
• Candidates must possess a valid MN class D driver’s license, or equivalent, and their own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel. 
• The selected candidate must have the ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to read, speak and write English clearly is required. This position interacts with City staff, City residents, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Ability to work within a team atmosphere
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and your own transportation. Regional travel may be required.
