Now accepting applications for an Entry Level Water Resources Civil Engineer opportunity!

As a Civil Engineer I (Engineer-in-Training) you will learn practical on-the-job experience. As a Water Resources Civil Engineer I you will spend the majority of their time assisting project managers and project engineers in design and construction phase activities of soft environmental and water resources projects. As an Engineer Intern in Water Resources you will assist with assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities in the areas of hydrology and hydraulics. You will perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies. In addition, you will assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications, prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates, travel to work sites and other project locations, and perform detailed inspection and project documentation.

In addition, this position may assist with technical analysis and documentation such as plan reviews, storm water pollution prevention plans, design of storm water facilities, storm water management planning, wetland permitting, grant and funding applications, public outreach, management of budget and schedule, and MS4 permit management.

This applicant must possess a high capacity for self-motivation and be able to apply engineering and environmental knowledge to a variety of projects.  In addition, must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and staff from various agencies.

The selected candidate will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution and have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam. An emphasis in, or elective courses in, water resources is required. Other requirements include three (3) months of experience in a civil engineering environment, water resources emphasis preferred.  Education or on-the-job training in AutoCAD Civil 3D, XPSWMM and HEC-RAS. Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel. Candidates must possess a valid class D driver’s license and their own transportation. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.

Preferred skills include a Masters Degree in Water Resources Engineering, GIS coursework, HydroCAD, Microstation Geopak Drainage and Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA).
